Global Africa: Journal of African and African Diaspora Studies

Policies

All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the highest standards of scholarly quality, originality, and academic integrity. They are evaluated based on their scholarly merit, including the originality and significance of the topic, relevance to the journal's mission and scope, quality of research and analysis, clarity of writing, engagement with relevant scholarship, methodological rigor, and overall contribution to knowledge in Africana Studies. Authors will normally receive a publication decision within four months of submission, although the review process may occasionally require additional time. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts comply with all applicable copyright laws and permissions requirements before submission. The journal accepts only original, unpublished manuscripts that are not under review or consideration by another journal, publisher, or other publication venue. Simultaneous submissions are not permitted. Authors whose manuscripts are accepted for publication are expected to respond promptly to editorial correspondence and to address comments and revisions requested by reviewers, copy editors, and the editorial team promptly. By submitting their manuscript, authors grant the journal the non-exclusive right to publish the work if it is accepted for publication. Authors retain responsibility for the accuracy of the facts, interpretations, and opinions expressed in their work. The views published in the journal are those of the individual authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the editors, editorial board, or publisher. Accordingly, the journal assumes no responsibility or liability for the content of published articles.
