A Documentation of the Development of the Tennessee Board of Regents' Ready2Teach Model for Teacher Preparation in Music Education
Abstract
In order for teachers to effectively educate American public school students, they must be highly qualified. The State of Tennessee has an increasing demand for these teachers. In response to that demand, the Tennessee Board of Regents, which produces more than fifty percent of teacher candidates in the state, implemented a redesign model for teacher preparation entitled "Ready2Teach." What does this mean for music education? This study will document the development of the Tennessee Board of Regents Ready2Teach model for music teacher preparation.
