Food Safety in Saudi Arabia: An Examination of Perceptions and Attitudes
Abstract
This study aims to exam the awareness, perceptions, and attitudes towards food safety in Saudi Arabia. The objectives of this study are to assess the awareness of food safety among Saudi Arabia, examine the sources of risks of foodborne illnesses and describe the attitudes of Saudi Arabians towards the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). The survey was sent out to several people representing different gender, age, annual income, marital status, and educational level groups in Saudi Arabia. From the collected data, three hypotheses were examined in this study. The research is Significant because it will measure the awareness level of food safety in Saudi Arabia, explore the potential threats of food poisoning in Saudi Arabia and establish data in regard to the SAFD and Saudi population awareness of food safety.
