A Comprehensive Study on Capital Sentencing Laws In Saudi Arabia and the United States

Abstract

This study reviews, analyses and compares the death penalty laws in Saudi Arabia and the United States. The lack of academic references regarding capital punishment laws particularly in Saudi Arabia prompted the researcher to choose this topic. The study was conducted through a qualitative research method, which focuses on gathering information from different sources using the block method for comparing the laws in both nations. Further, the study sheds light on capital punishment in practice, as there are some differences in the laws. Additionally, it points out the attitude of the United States and Saudi Arabian legislators in regard to capital punishment. This thesis makes a prediction about the death penalty future in the United States and Saudi Arabia by examines the movement towards the development of capital punishment since it is effecting by both public opinion and international pressure.
