Songwriter's workshop: The planning and implementation of “The Little Compton Songwriter's Workshop” at the Little Compton Community Center
Abstract
This paper presents an overview of the role, planning and implementation of “The Little Compton Songwriter's Workshop” on August 13th, 2011 at The Little Compton Community Center. Directing a songwriter's workshop requires significant planning. Designing a curriculum, securing a facility, determining the scheduling of events and advertising are all important aspects of implementing a successful songwriter's workshop. A workshop questionnaire was used to measure the quality of the event, the results of which are presented in this document. Print, e-mail and website advertising were used with varied results. A case history of the day's events is presented in this paper.
